Taxation
- COMPANIES that take out this insurance for their workers have to know that it is a deductible expense for their company and not a salary in kind for the employees, up to the amounts indicated in article 42.3.C of the Income Tax Law. The limit established in that article is €500 per year and person when the insurance is in favour of the worker, spouse and descendants.
- For SELF-EMPLOYED entrepreneurs and FREELANCERS is a deductible expense of their economic activity up to €500 per person for those insurances in favour of them, their spouse or their descendants (with the exception of Araba, Bizkaia, and Gipuzkoa).
Exclusions
- The direct provision by the insurer of medical and surgical services and the payment of medical and pharmaceutical care expenses.
- Pre-existing conditions. Pre-existing health problems (chronic or not), injuries, or disorders prior to the date of issue of the policy.
- Illnesses and accidents produced in sports practiced professionally.
- Abortion and any health alteration during the temporary interruption of the professional activity due to the rest period of maternity leave.
- Mental and behavioural disorders without hospitalization, and disorders caused by stress.
- AIDS and diseases caused by HIV. Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
- Health alterations caused by civil or international war and those produced by atomic or nuclear energy with the exception of those caused by medical treatments, officially declared epidemics and all risks officially declared catastrophic.
- Illnesses or accidents caused by the ingestion of alcoholic beverages, drug addiction, or attempted suicide, and health issues derived from medical acts or voluntary treatments not required to treat an illness or accident.
- The exacerbations, sequelae, consequences, complications and specific treatments of the described risks.
- For the coverage of the complementary guarantee of the Covid19 disease, health alterations related to this process are excluded if they existed prior to the date of contracting the policy, or whose first manifestations were known by the Insured, even if they were in the study phase and there was no specific diagnosis, or they were revealed again as a result of a new relapse.
The following occupations are excluded: circus activities, dog trainer, mayor, court clerk, firefighter, quarry worker, priest, ambulance driver, state security forces, athlete, domestic worker, train employee, student, carny, prosecutor, civil servant, diving instructor, judge, magistrate, motorcycle messenger, soldier, miner, sports monitor, mountain guide, parapsychologist, bullfighter, racing driver, sports monitor, P.E. teacher, dance instructor, lifeguard, lottery vendor, itinerant trader.
Special conditions
- Hospitalization You can additionally take out this coverage, guaranteeing a maximum of 365 days of compensation as long as you remain uninterruptedly in a health centre, hospital or clinic, for a minimum of 24 hours, as a result of suffering from an illness or an accident. Maximum compensation of €300 per day. Three-months waiting period for this coverage in case of illness and immediate effects of an accident.
- COVID19 hospitalization. You can additionally contract this complementary coverage, as an independent policy, linked to the main one, guaranteeing you a maximum of 10 days of compensation in case you remain uninterruptedly in a health centre, hospital or clinic, for a minimum of 48 hours, as a result of suffering from Covid19 disease caused by the SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus and diagnosed by a positive test result; and a maximum of 30 days per admission to the ICU for the treatment of this Covid19 disease, with a minimum stay of 48 hours. Compensation of €100 per day and a 15-day waiting period for this coverage.
